Christmas light removal service and off-season storage are included in every Castle display. Takedown starts January 1st and finishes by January 21st; your lights go into labeled bins at our facility, not your attic.
Takedown, January 1–21
The season doesn't really end until the lights are down, and that's the job most homeowners dread. Our crews start removals on January 1st and aim to have every display down no later than January 21st. Florida weather occasionally shifts a removal date, and if it does we'll tell you. Want to keep the display up a little past New Year's? Say so ahead of time and we'll schedule around it.
How the removal works
- At the end of the season, you unplug the cords from the timers and let us know you're ready.
- Our crew removes every strand, clip, timer and cord — the same equipment we installed.
- Everything is coiled, tagged by location on your home and packed into labeled, color-coded bins.
- The bins go to our facility, matched to your design map, until next fall.
What gets re-used next year
Because the lights are commercial-grade and handled by the same crew every year, most of a display comes back exactly as it went down. Anything that didn't survive the season is replaced by us before the next install — that's part of the rental, not a charge to you. Your layout is stored with the lights, so the re-install is a date on the calendar, not a redesign.
Tangled, unlabeled strands in a hot garage are how DIY displays die between seasons. Labeled bins in a climate-appropriate facility, sorted by where each run belongs on your home, are the reason year two takes an hour instead of a Saturday.
Included in the price
Removal and storage are never billed separately. They're inside the same all-in quote as the design, the lights and the install — see our Christmas light installation pricing and the rental model for the full picture.
Weather, timing and the January calendar
January in Central Florida is dry and mild, which is why removal is quick, but a cold front or a windy week can shift a removal date by a few days. Removal runs on a route like installation does: coastal Volusia homes near our base first, West Volusia and Seminole County next, Orlando route days after that. If you need the display down by a specific date — a January party, a listing photo, an HOA deadline — tell us when you book and we'll schedule the removal around it.
Storage details
Bins are labeled with your name and color-coded by run, stored off the ground at our Volusia County facility and matched to the design map we drew for your house. Nothing sits in a hot garage and nothing gets tangled. Before next season's install, each run is checked and any strand that didn't survive the year is replaced — by us, as part of the rental.

Just tell us ahead of time. Removal starts January 1st, but we can hold a display up a bit later on request.
